The effect of rapeseed meal and extruded vetch on the fatty acid composition of cows milk in comparison with extruded peas

Abstract

The results of studies on the influence of rapeseed cake and extruded vetch on the fatty acid composition of cow's milk in comparison with extruded peas are presented. A significant decrease in the content of oleic acid, an insignificant increase in stearic acid, and a slight increase in palmitic, myristic, and lauric acids were shown when feeding rapeseed cake. No significant difference in the fatty acid composition of milk was found when feeding extruded vetch.
