Abstract

The study of collection samples has allowed to find out that sandy type samples show the highest winter-hardiness and are less damaged by pests and diseases under conditions of Steppe of Ukraine. Rough stems are their defect. Zakavkaz type is characterized by high productivity of the green mass and seeds, better fodder quality, high winter-hardiness. Low winter-hardiness is a defect. By bushiness, leaf quantity and protein content common sainfoin is not worse than other types, but it has lower winter-hardiness and productivity.
