Soybean plant density and their survival depending on the sowing terms and varieties

Abstract

The paper highlights the results of researches conducted in 2013-2015 on the study of the features of soybean plant density formation during the growing season under the influence of the varietal characteristics and changes in the sowing terms under the conditions of the Northern Steppe of Ukraine. It has been found that sowing in the early stages, when the soil temperature at the depth of 10cm 50C, significantly reduces germination and plant density in the phase of full ripeness. Legend variety forms the highest germination under early sowing. Under late sowing Vilshanka variety provides high resistance to lodging during the growing season. When these varieties are sown in proper time they produce 55.1-58.2 plants/m in the phase of full ripeness.
