Biodiversity status of soil in conditions of transitional southern soil and climatic zones of Poltava region

Abstract

Actuality and necessity of improving the system of indicators of land monitoring and assessments of soil biodiversity are considered. Indicators which characterize soil biodiversity and its functions are proposed. Soil biodiversity in a transitional southern soil-climatic zone of Poltava region depending on the soil type and the type of land use is researched. Comparative analysis of soil biodiversity of natural and agricultural ecosystems is carried out. The dominance of indicators of earthworm number and soil biological activity on natural ecosystem and indicators of springtails number (Collembola) and the diversity of the soil microflora on agricultural ecological system are established.
